Join Jazz Break and Knowedge for the Luxembourgish premiere of a unique collaborative event! Our aim is to bring together Luxembourg’s Jazz and House dance communities and to explore the continuum of African American descendant dances (from Jazz to House), their common origin as well as their distinctive characters. Our special guest, Diego Odd Sweet will inspire you with his workshops, while both teams Jazz Break and Knowedge will introduce you to the basics of their styles.

You love House and/or Jazz dancing. You have the basic groove of your dance style and know your basic vocabulary. Maybe you’re already doing some variations on your own. You are curious to discover the links between Jazz and House.
In this workshop Diego will focus on House. Jazz dancers will bring out their Charleston energy, kicking into the groove of House and Jack! It is suitable for dancers of both styles of all levels.
Did you know that Charleston rhythms, kicks and dynamics have influenced today’s Urban Dance styles? In this workshop, Diego will guide you through his personal blend of Swing and Urban Dances. He will show you how to transform Charleston vocabulary into new textures, grooves, and musicality. Be ready for creative variations, playful combinations, and fresh ways to connect historical movement with today's dance language.
This workshop is recommended for dancers with at least two years of dance experience, whether your background is in Swing, House, Hip Hop, or other Urban Dance styles.

In this workshop Diego will focus on Jazz. He will guide house dancers to easily find connections between Jazz foundations and social steps. It is suitable for dancers of both styles of all levels.
This workshop will take you on a dance journey from the 1920s Jazz to the 2000s House. Explore the evolution of Dancing in relation to Music throughout most of the 20th century! This workshop is open to everyone who has at least basic knowledge of the groove and vocabulary of Jazz, House or Club dancing.

Dancer, performer, and choreographer, Diego aka Odd Sweet is a graduate of the professional hip hop training Juste Debout School. He has studied all styles of Street Dance and specializes in Swing dances. Wishing to connect with sources, in 2014 he set up the company ODD Visions and his first creation «Jazz-In-The-Box» in which he wanted to highlight the versatility of House Dance and the rhythmic richness of Afro-American vernacular dances. Defender of the Clubbing culture, he also practices Voguing old way and Waacking within the group Black Jack Clubbing Project. He then joined the Afro-Caribbean company Difé Kako with which he discovered the Caribbean music that sprinkled his House / Disco DJ sets. His atypical career and his multidisciplinarity lead him to work on the stages of national theaters as well as with the music group Caravan Palace on the international «Chronologic» tour.
Transmitter of knowledge and techniques, he is also a teacher of «Charleston Evolution» (personal fusion between swing dances and urban dances) at Swing Delight as well as a dance conference animator. Loving sharing and competitions, he distinguished himself in many events whether in the Hip Hop or Swing world. He notably won the House final of Juste Debout Nordic with Raza, the Showcase Contest Paris Jazz Roots, the Deep House Mission and qualified for the finals of Summer Dance Forever and ILHC in Solo Jazz.
He is currently working on his new creation _GROUND [UnderGround], a piece for 5 performers, which evokes two different universes : the UnderGround which corresponds to the world of the night and the OverGround which corresponds to everyday life.

Knowedge is a non-profit association entirely run by volunteers. Its purpose is cultural vocation, multidisciplinary creation, bringing together groups and individuals of various nationalities and cultures during demonstrations, events, or other activities in order to promote Hip-Hop dance in Luxembourg in a significant and sustainable way.
