Katrin and Jesús discovered their passion for Lindy Hop and Solo Jazz in Cologne in 2013. Since 2015, they’ve been teaching these dance styles. In May 2019, they founded @swingtimes , which offers weekly classes, weekend workshops and social dances. The duo is committed to gender-independent consideration and equality of dance roles, as well as honoring the roots of swing dances and creating an inclusive teaching atmosphere. During lessons, they emphasize quality of movement, technical aspects of dancing and communication between dancers.
Venues: Centre Culturel Am Duerf (day activities), Vantage Bar (party).
Join Katrin and Jesús on this trip back in time and space to the city of Charleston in the 1920s, for some early Charleston with its characteristic leg twists. Be ready to discover a fancy way to dance smoothly to faster tunes without losing your breath: you will learn the basics as well as some partnered 1920s Charleston moves. Katrin and Jesús will also make you discover the history of this dance, its links with the city of Charleston (USA) and the Gullah Geechie people.
This workshop is accessible to everyone, from absolute beginners and experienced dancers!

In this workshop, our followers will shine! Roberta will share some of her many beautiful footwork variations with our followers. Be ready for rhythmical variations and styling options.
Solid basics are needed to join this workshop.
Let’s take some time to focus on our dance connection skills. Improving the connection will open the doors to more complex moves and figures, while allowing each dancer to enjoy their own flow, find their own style and play with their feet. You got it! A good connection is fundamental and the prerequirement to integrate footwork variations into our dancing without affecting the flow of our dance!

Jonathan grew up surrounded by music, and even as a child, he had a passion for jazz-much to the confusion of his peers, who didn’t quite know what to make of Art Tatum or Erroll Garner. As a pianist, he’s always been fascinated by jazz improvisation, drawing most of his inspiration from artists of the 1940s and 50s.
Many years later, he discovered by chance that there was a Lindy Hop scene in his student town of Saarbrücken. Couple dancing felt completely unfamiliar at first, but Jonathan quickly became an active social dancer - joining as many classes and parties as he could, and he still does to this day.
What he loves most about swing dancing is the freedom of movement, the musicality, the connection and shared moments with a partner, the feeling of being present, the warmth of the community, and of course the great parties.
Venues: Drescherhaus (day activities).
Jazz dancing is playful, rhythmical, improvisational, full of self-expression and communication between dance partners. In this workshop, Jonathan and Liz will take you on a journey to explore your social dancing playground and connection with your dance partner. Engage into a dialogue through partnered or solo dancing with another person. Expect the unexpected and find ways to vary every single social dance!
Join this workshop if you have at least basic knowledge of Lindy Hop and Solo Jazz.
In this workshop, Jonathan and Eda will challenge your dancing habits and adaptation skills. The dance floor can be cozy and hypercrowded or leave a lot of space to each dancer. Let’s see how we can adapt our dancing - small or big - to the conditions of this floor. Jazz music can be big and explosive, but also gentle and cosy. How can we reflect those changes in the music in our dancing? Is one or the other calling for more ample or closer positions in partnered dances?
Join this workshop if you have at least basic knowledge of Lindy Hop and Solo Jazz.
